Twenty two elected delegates from the Falmouth Democratic Town Committee joined 4,000 fellow delegates from across the Commonwealth at the DCU Center in Worcester (a.k.a. The Woo), on May 29-30th to participate in the 2026 MassDems Nominating Convention. The event featured speeches, information tables, and networking events all culminating in the nomination of representatives who will receive the Massachusetts Democratic Party Endorsement. Highlights were:
- Governor Maura Healey gave a slam dunk speech outlining her administration’s accomplishments and vision for the future. She was roundly endorsed by acclimation for a second four-year term.
- Senator Ed Markey secured the party’s endorsement over Congressman Seth Moulton. Both candidates will be on the ballot for the Primary election on September 1st.
- State Auditor Diana DiZoglio sang her trademark, pitch perfect call for transparency in government and a state audit.
- Jack Richardson, candidate State Representative, Barnstable 3rd, laid out his plan to tackle tough policy issues like housing, immigration, economy, and equity at the Young Democrats breakfast.
Falmouth Delegate Bill Royer summed up his first experience at a Mass Democratic Convention, “I was inspired by the rousing speeches from amazing Democratic leaders, but what really inspired me was observing all the young idealistic Democrats whose passion offers me hope for the political future for our country, at a time that we really need it.” Bill also had the good fortune to run in to Governor Healey on the way in, with a photo to show it!
