Expansive Role of Libraries in Our Community with Brian Stokes

April 10 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

The Falmouth Democratic Town Committee will explore the topic of the Expansive Role of Libraries in 2025, with guest speaker Brian Stokes, at its hybrid meeting on Thursday April 10 at 7PM at the Gus Canty Community Center, 790 Main Street, Falmouth and via Zoom.

Brian Stokes is the Library Director of the Falmouth Public Library, overseeing a team of 35 across three locations. Before arriving in Falmouth in 2022, he spent over a decade at the New York Public Library, where he advanced from Correctional Services Coordinator—providing library services to incarcerated individuals at Rikers Island—to Library Manager of the vibrant New Amsterdam Branch in Lower Manhattan. He holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Penn State University and a master’s degree in library and information science from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY.

After Mr. Stokes’ talk, candidates running for office in the May 2025 Local Election will introduce themselves and answer questions.
