March 19, 2019 Volunteer Appreciation – Veronica Martinez, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Democratic Party, will speak on Tuesday, March 19th at 7PM at the Falmouth Public Library Hermann Room, 300 Main Street, Falmouth. Ms. Martinez will be discussing state and national party efforts to message from the ground up, working with the grassroots, and organizing ahead of the 2020 election. Ms. Martinez previously worked as an aide to David Gergen, CNN political analyst and Harvard Kennedy School Professor, and the campaigns of former-Governor Deval Patrick, Senator Elizabeth Warren, and Senator Edward Markey. She is a South Carolina native and a Wellesley College graduate.
The event is open to the public. At the meeting we will be honoring and thanking volunteers for their contributions in the 2018 mid-term elections. Cake and light refreshments will be served. March 30 and March 31 Democratic Campaign Institute – We are excited to announce the 2019 Democratic Campaign Institute, in Boston from March 30th and March 31st. The Democratic Campaign Institute brings together campaign managers, candidates, town committee members, and activists from across the Commonwealth to learn from one another and leading political experts to hone their political strategy and grassroots organizing skills. Everyone is encouraged to attend, no matter their level of experience or skills – from those just becoming active to the most seasoned campaign leaders.
This two-day program will feature top political operatives and activists from Massachusetts and across the nation. Participants will receive hands-on training on all elements of successful campaigning including campaign plan development, strategic messaging, fundraising basics, and more.

May 16, 2019 “Cape Cod, America and the World: How the Bipartisan Foreign Policy Elite in Washington is Failing Us.” – Stephen Kinzer author, journalist, and academic will speak on Thursday, May 16, 2019, 7PM-9PM at the Falmouth Public Library, Hermann Foundation Meeting Room, 300 Main Street, Falmouth, MA about: “Cape Cod, America and the World: How the Bipartisan Foreign Policy Elite in Washington is Failing Us.”
Mr. Kinzer is currently a Senior Fellow at the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs at Brown University and world affairs columnist for the Boston Globe. His articles and books have focused on foreign policy storytelling. Most recently Mr. Kinzer published “The True Flag: Theodore Roosevelt, Mark Twain, and the Birth of American Empire.”
